That includes the famous Firefox Browser icon for desktop and mobile, and even that icon is getting an update to be rolled out this fall. When you see it, it’s your invitation to join Firefox and gain access to everything we have to offer. Today we’re introducing the Firefox parent brand - an icon representing the entire family of products. Now Firefox has a new look to support its evolving product line. That’s just the beginning of the new Firefox family. It’s an easy way to protect your passwords on every device AND an early warning if your email has been part of a data breach. Firefox is a browser AND an encrypted service to send huge files. The “Firefox” you’ve always known as a browser is stretching to cover a family of products and services united by putting you and your privacy first. (Just look how it circumnavigates the globe.) That fabled flexibility now enables Firefox to adapt once again to a changing environment. Well, Firefox has another trait not found in earthly foxes: stretchiness. It’s known for being quick, clever, and untamed - attributes easily applied to its mythical cousin, the “Firefox” of browser fame. The font was developed by Erik Spiekermann.Consider the fox.

The type used for both the words “Mozilla” and “Firefox” in the previous version of the logo is called FF Meta Bold Roman. Why isn’t then a red panda featured on the logo? As Hicks explained, very few people know that a “firefox” means a panda. While the animal seen on the icon is undoubtedly a fox, in fact, the word “firefox” actually refers to the red panda.

The lines of the creature’s tail are elongated and smooth, looking elegant and sleek.

The enlarged fox is now drawn in profile and looks tender and friendly, cuddling the circle of the globe. In 2019 the globe becomes smaller and its blue color is being replaced by light purple. As for the globe, it’s color became brighter, though the contours of the continents are not seen anymore, the background is plain and gradient. The redesign of 2017 brought a new smooth style to the iconic fox, which was now executed in smooth wide lines, with all the sharp triangular elements removed. The elements on the globe got minimized as well as the color, the same was with the fox, all accents were moved to its tail. The gloss has left the badge and now it looked simpler and flatter. In 2013 the Firefox emblem is being redrawn and simplified. Then overall composition and style haven’t changed, but the tail of the fox was redrawn and now looked even more similar to a flame. The globe gained lighter gradients in 2009, and this made the emblem three-dimensional and glossy, looking modern and trendy.
